The famous table appeared at Underground Dining in Co Down. Owner Gary meets Van Morrison, Neil Shawcross, Howard Hastings and David Lennon. A restaurant owner in Bangor was delighted to welcome guests who included legendary musician Van Morrison.

The famous table appeared at Underground Dining in Co Down. Posting on social media, the owner Gary Bell said: “Today Gary and the team at Underground Dining had the pleasure of welcoming Van Morrison, Neil Shawcross, Howard Hastings and David Lennon to the restaurant.” Sir Van Morrison’s music career spans seven decades.



Morrison's albums have performed well in the UK and Ireland, with more than 40 reaching the UK top 40. He has scored top ten albums in the UK in four consecutive decades, following the success of 2021's Latest Record Project, Volume 1. Neil Shawcross MBE is an artist born in Lancashire, England, and resident in Northern Ireland since 1962.

He is primarily a portrait painter, his subjects have included Nobel prize winning poet Seamus Heaney, novelist Francis Stuart for the Ulster Museum, former Lord Mayor of Belfast David Cook for Belfast City Council, footballer Derek Dougan and fellow artists Colin Middleton and Terry Frost. Mr Shawcross also paints the figure and still life, taking a self-consciously childlike approach to composition and colour. While Howard has been with Hastings Hotels for the past 32 years.

Before that, he studied Law at Nottingham University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in London. During his time with Hastings Hotels, the company has bought and successfully redeveloped numerous properties and projects including the Grand Central Hotel in Belfast. Howard has at various times been Chair of the Northern Ireland Hotels Federation, the NI Division of the Institute of Directors, Visit Belfast, and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board.

And David Lennon is a retired barrister turned musician who resides in Bangor Co Down..
