Residents of a luxury condominium building with views of the Charles River in Cambridge are temporarily evacuating the building after structural problems were discovered. Everyone who lives in the Riverview Condominiums at 221 Mt. Auburn St.

will be moving out in a "near-term timeframe" according to city spokesperson Jeremy Warnick. Concerns discovered during a recent construction project on one of the lower roofs of the building led to the Riverview Board of Trustees hiring engineers to evaluate the structure, Warnick said. Those engineers found multiple issues.



"While the building currently remains habitable, tenants are voluntarily leaving due to the structural concerns and needed repairs," Warnick wrote in a statement. The building was constructed in 1963 and contains 80 units. According to Zillow, Unit 508, a 2 bedroom and 2 bath condo with river views, sold in May for $1.
