Pune: The renovation work of the old terminal building will start in October this year and will be completed by March next year, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) officials said on Tuesday. "We are expecting the renovation to begin in October. At present, some flights operate from the old building because clearance from the immigration is yet to come to us.

But we anticipate that it will come to us soon and all operations will move to the new terminal," Pune airport director Santosh Dhoke told TOI. The project would focus on extending and modernising the old terminal building to elevate the travel experience, an official said. The last time the airport was shut for flight operations for two months during the Covid lockdown in 2020.
