Another shocking incident was when the Silsila actress was forcibly kissed by a notable B-town actor. This horrifying incident was mentioned in the actress’ biographical book Rekha: The Untold Story. In 1969, Rekha began her career as a lead actress.
She was just 15 when she signed Anjana Safar and was paired opposite Bengali superstar Biswajit Chatterjee, who was 32 at the time. The film’s director Kuljit Pal conspired to shoot a kissing scene without her permission. A scene required Biswajit to romance the actress, but he went on to kiss her, taking Rekha by surprise.
He pulled Rekha close to him and pressed his lips onto her forcibly. Rekha started to push him away as she was feeling extremely uncomfortable. But the worst part was, director allowed the kissing sequence to go on and didn’t say cut for excruciating whole five minutes.
