Rece Davis offered insight into whether some shots were fired from College Station during Week 9. First-year Texas A&M Aggies head coach Mike Elko is 7-1 after a 23-13 season opener loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Aggies beat the LSU Tigers in their last game 38-23, and Elko had some interesting comments afterward.
Elko said the Aggies were authentic, claiming politicians ran specific college football programs. Elko's comments went viral on social media. "This is a real program," Elko said.

This is a real program and for all the recruits out there, this is a real place. There was some quarterback controversy in College Station during Week 9. Conner Weigman started the game for Texas A&M but was eventually replaced by backup quarterback Marcel Reed.
Reed finished the game with 70 passing yards, 62 rushing yards, and three touchdowns. Weigman has been dealing with injuries this season and inconsistent play, missing three games after suffering a shoulder injury against McNeese. On a recent episode of the " College GameDay Podcast ," Pete Thamel and Rece Davis debated who the intended recipient of Elko's comments was.
