Danielle Marr Collins made her name as a jab queen and on Dublin Wives but is now stateside Comedian Danielle Marr Collins at The Ice House Comedy Club in Pasadena, California Danielle with Jimmy Carr Danielle with Craig Robinson Danielle with Hoie Mandel Danielle Meagher with fellow Dublin Housewives Virginia Macari, Roz Flanagan, Jo Jordan and Lisa Murphy Dublin Wives TV star Danielle Marr Collins admits it’s been a rollercoaster ride going from being a famous Botox administrator to a hit on the Los Angeles comedy circuit. Feisty Dubliner Danielle moved to California five years ago after becoming a millionaire thanks to her profession as a dentist and administering Botox to clients. She earned the famous nickname ‘Dr Botox’ and then starred on the reality television series Dublin Wives in 2012 and 2013, and also made an appearance on Celebrity Big Brother.

In recent years she has become a hit on the comedy circuit in California and has lately been hanging out with the likes of Jimmy Carr, Howie Mandel, Craig Robinson and Leslie Jones. Danielle with Jimmy Carr Danielle has been doing stand-up routines for nearly two years and, on her birthday recently, she performed at no less than three venues on the one evening, including her weekly gig at the legendary Comedy Store. “This year Los Angeles hosted the ‘Netflix is a Joke’ comedy festival and they brought over Jimmy Carr,” explains the mum-of-one, who also uses the name Danielle Meagher.

“He stayed at the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel and I was in the green room backstage eating a pretzel at The Comedy Store and in walks Jimmy Carr who was playing in the Original Room part of the building that night. “He recognised my accent immediately and mentioned he was Irish. It turns out we have a mutual friend and early stand-up comedy mentor from the UK, Jill Edwards, who taught all the big UK comics.

Danielle with Craig Robinson “Both Jimmy and I started our stand-up comedy training at the Komedia Comedy Club in Brighton under Jill Edwards. We talked about that and how the first time I did stand-up was right before I did Celebrity Big Brother UK, with Romesh Ranganathan hosting my first show.” Danielle recalls she joked about how there was an Irish woman and an English man backstage at The Comedy Store.

“Jimmy corrected me, saying his parents are from Limerick and he loves touring every part of Ireland, and got someone to take a photo of the two of us,” she said. Her routines on the American comedy circuit include observations on her time in LA, visits to her gynaecologist and life as a reality TV personality and an Irish woman in America, as well as her stint on Dublin Wives. “My show is all gossip about reality TV and Botox and secrets of TV and so on,” she said.

“I can’t wait to play Irish comedy venues — I’m pretty homesick, to be honest, but I need to keep the momentum going so it’s just work, work, work and getting as much stage time all over town. Danielle with Hoie Mandel “The comedy community here in LA is amazing — just last month, Jo Koy was touring in Dublin and made an Instagram video at Trinity College, where I studied, while I was about to go on stage at The Hollywood Improv. It felt like a real sliding doors moment.

” Her birthday comedy ‘hat trick’ included playing on the same day at The Lab Hollywood Improv, The Original Room at The Comedy Store and Chocolate Sundaes at The Laugh Factory. She also told how she not only got to see Craig Robinson live, but hang out with him too. “Only 10 days ago, I had just performed in the 7pm show at The Comedy Store in the Original Room and was sitting in the back corner during the late show, watching other comics,” she recalls.

“Craig was sitting at the back too — he’s always such a delight. When he plays the main stage at The Comedy Store with his keyboard, we all stand in the comics section at the back so we can almost dance along and sing along. He gets the whole room singing.

“He’s such a big star here and in Ireland. I probably drove him half-mad the other week as I was sitting beside him, trying to charge my phone in the kitchen, and left him in charge of my water bottle. “I kept jumping up and down, and he’s so chilled, funny, and incredibly nice.

He makes me laugh on and off stage and is so damn nice to everyone. He loves Ireland and made a surprise appearance at the Craic Den in Dublin last month.” Danielle Meagher with fellow Dublin Housewives Virginia Macari, Roz Flanagan, Jo Jordan and Lisa Murphy ROZ FLANAGAN Armagh-born Roz lives between mansions in Malahide, Co Dublin and Marbella with her four daughters and husband Vincent, who owned a major refrigeration company.
