Thursday, August 22, 2024 In a significant move to position Taiwan as a top travel destination for Muslim tourists, the Taiwan Tourism Administration has launched a new promotional campaign titled “Jom Taiwan!” The campaign features Nabila Razali, a popular Malaysian singer and actress with a following of over 3.5 million on social media, as the 2024 Malaysian Muslim Tourism Ambassador for Taiwan. The announcement was made during a press conference held by the Taiwan Tourism Administration, where the new travel promotional video “Jom Taiwan!” was unveiled.

The video invites Muslim travelers to discover the diverse and rich experiences Taiwan offers. Over 40 media outlets from Malaysia attended the launch, drawn by Nabila Razali’s celebrity appeal. During the event, Nabila enjoyed Halal-certified Taiwanese fried chicken and boba milk tea, warmly inviting Malaysian tourists to “Jom Taiwan” alongside Mr.

Chou Ting-chang, Deputy Director-General of the Tourism Administration, to experience Taiwan’s Muslim-friendly amenities and breathtaking landscapes. During her filming trips to Taiwan, Nabila explored a variety of the island’s iconic attractions, including the dramatic landscapes of Bitou Cape on the Northeast Coast, the vibrant hydrangea fields of Yangmingshan, and the nostalgic ambiance of Jingtong Station on the Pingxi Line. She also indulged in Taiwanese Muslim delicacies, savored traditional Hakka lei cha (ground tea), and enjoyed biking along the picturesque Tanya Shen Green Bikeway in Taichung.

Nabila expressed her honor in being chosen as the ambassador for Taiwan’s Muslim-friendly tourism campaign, highlighting the warmth and hospitality of the Taiwanese people and the natural beauty of the island. Deputy Director-General Chou emphasized the strong connections between Malaysia and Taiwan, noting that Malaysia is a key market for promoting Muslim tourism. Since 2018, the Tourism Administration has been actively building the “Salam Taiwan” brand in the Malaysian Muslim market, positioning Taiwan as a welcoming travel destination.

The newly launched “Jom Taiwan” promotional video leverages Nabila Razali’s popularity to encourage more Malaysians to visit Taiwan. Recognizing the vast potential of the global Muslim community, which numbers over 2 billion people, Taiwan has been developing a Muslim-friendly environment since 2012. This initiative has placed Taiwan among the top three global destinations in the “Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI)” by Singapore’s CrescentRating, a position Taiwan has maintained since 2019.

The campaign is further supported by the launch of a new Muslim Travel Guide and the “72 hours in Taiwan” voting campaign. This campaign invites Malaysian residents to vote for their preferred Taiwan travel itinerary, with a chance to win a luxurious three-day, two-night travel experience or round-trip tickets to Taiwan. The promotional video will be broadcast widely through travel exhibitions, digital billboards, and online platforms.

Additionally, the Tourism Administration plans to participate in the MATTA Fair in Kuala Lumpur in September, where Nabila will attend to meet fans and share more highlights of Taiwan’s tourism offerings. In collaboration with Malaysian Muslim travel operators, the Tourism Administration will also launch exclusive group travel offers to further entice Muslim visitors from Malaysia..
