NAUGATUCK – Raymond P. Donnelly, 94, of Naugatuck, passed away in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024.

Ray was born Oct. 30, 1929, to the late Raymond and Lena Donnelly. He was the husband of Margaret “Peg” Donnelly, whom he had missed dearly since her passing in December.

From a young age Ray was determined, strong-willed and an overcomer of many obstacles. Ray, with the help of his wife Peg and brother Bernie, built his home in Naugatuck and lived there for 61 years. He was so proud of that house where he and his family lived and created beautiful memories.

His home was always kept to the highest of standards; a welcoming place for family drop by to at any time. Ray worked as a plumber and was a proud lifelong member of the UA Local 777 Plumbers and Pipefitters labor union of Meriden. Family was very important to Ray.

He loved having his grandchildren over to his house, taking them on tractor rides, going for Slurpees at the local 7-Eleven and even going for weekly pizza dinners. Many of the family vacations were spent visiting Myrtle Beach. The memories he made with his family will be treasured forever by everyone.

Ray leaves behind his beloved children, Noreen (Frank) Shea of Myrtle Beach, Linda (Jim) Harkin of Wolcott, and Randy Donnelly of Prospect; his 11 grandchildren, Kelly Shea, Shannon Garbauskas, JJ, John, and Michael Harkin, Melissa, Rosie, Kat, Casey, Ryan, and Erin Donnelly; his sister Ginny Donnelly (Chuck) of Naugatuck; and his former daughter-in-law Mary Donnelly. Ray was predeceased by his wife Peg Donnelly and his brother Bernie Donnelly. The family would like to extend their thanks to his special care givers Tricia, Jenna, and Jennifer.

Family and friends are invited to gather Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m.
