In loving memory ~ It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Raymond Pierre Joseph "Ray" Bernier on September 8th, 2024. Ray, a beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Grand-père and Friend, will be missed by his wife and best friend, Nancy (Pinchin) Bernier, daughter and son Jessica Parsons (Dave) and Beau Bernier (Diana), loving step kids, Jay Pinchin and Tara Loutit (David) and the very proud Grand-père to Abigail, Charlie, William, Andrew, Katie, Evelyn, Oliver, Imogen and Gwynevere. Ray is survived by his sister Denise Bernier and brother, Romeo Bernier.

He is predeceased by his parents and brother Glen Bernier. Ray was born on June 28, 1946, in Timmins Ontario to parents Joseph Bernier and Lorette Leduc. They soon moved to Montreal QC, where he lived until he left for Vancouver, BC in 1966 to continue to work for IBM.

Ray actively embraced new opportunities. Whether this was a new adventure or business venture, he would immerse himself in it. He was successful in many business ventures over the years and he spent the last 35 years selling and buying real estate in the Greater Vancouver area and the Fraser Valley.

He valued his client relationship. Ray had many hobbies and interests over the years and researched these hobbies until he was an expert. He loved to learn and read about his interests and share his passion with others.

He loved hearing about other people's hobbies and interests too. He was an enthusiastic learner and a ferocious reader. However, his favourite way to spend a day would be in his shop with Nancy - crooning over Country Classics, with the smell of his woodfire lofting through the air as he worked on his latest project.

He also loved to plan solo motorcycle trips and experience the beautiful landscapes of BC and the US. He loved convenience and took great satisfaction in making life easier for others. Ray will be remembered for his loving and passionate heart, his sincerity, his warm hugs and how he was always available for others.

He loved his family fiercely and enjoyed spending time learning something new. He had a gift for teaching and made learning something new, exciting. He was warm and kind.

He loved God and devoted much of his time studying his Bible - highlighting meaningful scripture over and over until the whole book was almost all highlighted. We all take comfort that he is with Him in heaven, and we will see him again. A private family gathering will take place later this year.
