- Rare butterfly was caught on camera in Ak-Suu gorge in Chui region. "This time, there were many swallowtail (machaon) butterflies in the gorge. This butterfly is quite large and beautiful.

The machaon was named by the Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus after Machaon, a character from Greek mythology who was a physician and participated in the Greek campaign against Troy during the Trojan War," said nature enthusiast Nikolai Radchenko. Ecologist Aleksandr Sosnovskiy noted that the swallowtail is a rare and declining species. "It is very encouraging that these butterflies are found in large numbers in the gorges of Chui region.

The swallowtail is listed in the Red Book of Endangered Species. The decline in their numbers worldwide is due to changes or the complete destruction of their habitats through the use of pesticides, as well as capturing them. The butterfly itself is very beautiful.

On one hand, this delicate creature symbolizes the fragility of the natural world. On the other hand, as an ancient Chinese proverb says, the flap of a butterfly's wings can be felt on the other side of the world," he shared..
