Ralph Lauren is broadening its American Western Watch Collection with two new offerings that merge Swiss craftsmanship with its roots. Aptly named The Western Black Dial Cushion Watch, the new model is offered in sterling silver and 18k rose gold, both fitted with a black cushion dial. Exuding a classic yet retro aesthetic, the dial’s indices come in a serif-type font, where 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock appear in Arabic numerals, meanwhile, the rest of the indices come in Roman numerals.
24H 24-hour-markers are also incorporated in small print on the inner periphery of the dial. Coming in a 42mm case size, the timepiece is embellished with intricately engraved patterns that draw inspiration from the ones seen on vintage rodeo and concho belts. This aesthetic is extended to the leather straps, which have been hand-engraved by master artisans, making every example truly unique.
Powering the timepiece with 40 hours of power reserve, the RL514 caliber was crafted exclusively for Ralph Lauren by Swiss luxury Maison, Piaget. Available to shop on Ralph Lauren’s website soon, the sterling silver variant is priced at $24,600 USD, while the rose gold variant retails for $40,100 USD..
