As it re-releases on November 22, 2024, Rakesh Roshan opened up about the film and his plans of a remake of the same to ETimes as he said, “I won’t remake Karan Arjun or make a sequel but If I were to think of an alternate jodi for the movie today, I would cast Hrithik Roshan as Karan and Ranbir Kapoor as Arjun”. In the same interview, Rakesh Roshan also discussed his choice of casting the two superstars together as brothers wherein he revealed that he wanted Salman to play a powerful boxer with a quiet personality whereas Arjun was a happy-go-lucky yet brave and courageous person.
