Speaking with her NOVA co-host Jase Hawkins, 42, Lauren, 41, admitted that she had a 'rough night' on Tuesday after her faithful pooch had suffered two seizures. 'I had a rough night last night, and I'm a bit emotional today,' Lauren admitted on air.

'I don't want to cry. I've got a very sick dog, and it's really, really upsetting me. So my big dog, Marla, who's just like my absolute wingman, had two really big seizures overnight, and it was, it was just.

..,' she continued, struggling to hold back tears.

Admitting that Mala had experienced seizures in the past, Lauren said that she was surprised at the previous night's 'episode' as she thought the problem had been brought under control. 'She’s had a couple before..

.but [I] thought we'd worked it out and then last night, she had two really, really big seizures overnight,' She said. Continuing, Lauren admitted that the situation was made more difficult due to the fact that her millionaire fiancé, Paul O'Brien was not at home, and that her brother and sister-in-law were staying over with their new baby and Lauren did not want to wake them.

'[It happened] at, like 10 o'clock last night. I was asleep, and I heard this big bang, and I was like, what is that? An emotional Lauren Phillips fought back tears on Wednesday as she recounted a traumatic experience involving her beloved dog Mala 'And I turned the lights on, and she was just, I don't know if you've ever been around any one or an animal having a seizure, but it's pretty traumatic.' Lauren added that her vet had taught her what to do in this situation, so she thought she had the situation under control after the first seizure.

'It was the first time that it had happened and I hadn't taken her straight to the vet. They taught me what to do, and I was like, no, I've got this. I can sort it out.

So I tried,' Lauren said. 'And then, at about three o'clock this morning, she had another very big seizure. And so I've taken her into the emergency vet, and they're wonderful in there, down at Care in Collingwood, and they're a 24 hour vet, and they're just beautiful down there.

So she's down there being looked after.' Speaking with her NOVA co-host Jase Hawkins, 42, Lauren, 41, admitted that she had a 'rough night' on Tuesday after her faithful pooch had suffered two seizures A clearly emotional Lauren said that despite the two episodes only taking 'minutes', they felt like an eternity. 'It was only a couple of minutes, but it feels like a really long time when you're in it, and it's pretty graphic, like she's foaming at the mouth, and it was awful,' a teary Lauren divulged.

'And I don't have kids, my dogs...

she's my security guard. She's my comforter. She's been through everything with me.

It was just really, it's, it's really upsetting. 'I didn't want to cry at work today, but I raced. I went home and had a shower, and I was like, no, of course, I'm going to come to work.

But you feel really helpless when your pets are like that. 'So, yeah, she's at the vet, and hopefully she'll be fine, but I'm just really rattled today.' Admitting that she wasn't 'quite herself' this morning, Lauren added that the brave face she had put on for work slipped during her morning commute to the studio, thanks to Aussie songwriter Dean Lewis.

'I'm just not quite myself this morning. But sorry about that everyone. Sorry about being upset.

And then I was driving into work, and I heard that really sad Dean Lewis song, and it just completely...

it was the slow one,' she said. 'I don't have kids, my dogs..
