Vernon Kay has been forced off-air after battling a sore throat and taking advice from his doctor. The Radio 2 presenter apologised for his croakiness on Monday when Zoe Ball handed over to him on her first day back after a six-week break. On Tuesday, Gaby Roslin was standing in for the Bolton presenter who had had to call in sick.

She gave fans an update this morning and said: "Gaby in for Vernon Kay. It's a joy to be here. "Vernon, I hope your throat is feeling better.



I was listening yesterday, I love the show but did worry about your throat. So take it easy, no talking today."
