EXCLUSIVE: Quentin Plair ( Apples Never Fall ) and Wynn Everett ( Ordinary Joe) are set as series regulars opposite Glen Powell in Chad Powers , Hulu ‘s upcoming half-hour comedy series based on an Eli Manning sketch that aired on ESPN+. In addition to Powell, Plair and Everett join previously announced Perry Mattfeld as Ricky, Frankie A. Rodriguez as Danny and Steve Zahn as Jake Hudson.
In the series, co-created and executive produced by Powell and Michael Waldron, when bad behavior nukes hotshot QB Russ Holliday’s (Powell) college career, he disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers. Plair will play Coach Byrd and Everett will portray Tricia. Manning serves as executive producer along with Omaha Productions’ Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown and ESPN.
Waldron, who wrote the pilot script, and Adam Fasullo are producing for Anomaly Pictures while Powell is EPing under his production co-banner Brainstorm. Plair recently finished shooting the Volition Media Partners Indie film Not Without Hope , directed by Joe Carnahan, where he plays Marquis Cooper opposite Zachary Levi. Plair also can be seen in the role of Tyler Cruz opposite Sam Neill in Peacock’s Apples Never Fall.
He also recently starred in the lead role of Danny Kinkade in Hulu’s Tiny Beautiful Things. His other credits include Genius: MLK/X , the Peabody Award-winning Showtime series The Good Lord Bird and Roswell, New Mexico among others. He’s repped by Monogram Management and Innovative Artists.
Everett recurred in the Matt Reeves NBC series Ordinary Joe, the HBO Max DC Comics series Doom Patrol, and the Netflix series Teenage Bounty Hunters. She starred as Hayley Atwell’s nemesis in season two of Marvel’s Agent Carter for ABC and was the lead in the Steven Spielberg produced pilot, Lumen for TNT. Other television credits include The Walking Dead, Sweet Magnolias, Reverie, Modern Family, Here and Now, This Is Us, The Newsroom , and ABC’s Mind Games with Steve Zahn and Christian Slater.
