Monday, October 7, 2024 Queenstown Airport has achieved a major sustainability milestone, earning Level 4+ carbon accreditation, joining an elite group of airports committed to eco-friendly practices. Queenstown Airport has achieved an important milestone by receiving Level 4+ airport carbon accreditation from the Airports Council International (ACI). This prestigious recognition places the airport in close proximity to the highest level of certification within ACI’s programme, which is Level 5.

The achievement underscores the airport’s continuous efforts to implement sustainable practices and reduce its environmental impact. This accreditation places Queenstown Airport among an elite group of airports worldwide. Out of more than 40,000 airports across the globe, only 46 have achieved either Level 4+ or Level 5 carbon accreditation.



This sets Queenstown Airport apart as a leader in sustainability within the aviation industry, reflecting its commitment to tackling climate change.
