6% decline in passenger traffic, recording a total of 7,465,802 passengers compared to the previous year. Aircraft movements (ACM) also dropped by 6.9%, totaling 62,111.
However, cargo operations saw significant growth, increasing by 16.1% to reach 63,774 tons. Airport International Group, a Jordanian company with a blend of local and international investors, oversees the airport’s operations.
The consortium is composed of Groupe ADP holding a 51% stake, Meridiam Eastern Europe Investments with 32%, and Mena Airport Holding Ltd. (4.75%).
In 2007, the Government of Jordan awarded the group a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) concession after a transparent international bidding process. This agreement granted the group responsibility for the rehabilitation, expansion, and management of QAIA, Jordan’s primary international gateway. Since the BOT agreement began, QAIA has earned numerous accolades.
It held the top spot for eight years in the Airport Service Quality Survey’s ‘Best Airport by Size and Region: Middle East’ category for airports handling 5 to 15 million passengers annually and ranked among the top two in the ‘Best Airport by Region: Middle East’ category for four consecutive years.
