A new satellite photo shows Vladimir Putin's formerly favorite villa on the coast has been completely demolished as the Russian dictator reportedly "stopped flying to Sochi out of fear for his own life" thanks to Ukraine flying drones over the resort city. "The president fears drone attacks,” says Proekt , a collective of exiled Russian journalists with a media site specializing in investigative reports. Proekt's release of "before and after" satellite images has revealed a startling transformation at the large, red-roofed dacha (Russian summer house).
In May 2023, the Soviet-built home was cozily nestled just off the Black Sea with several outbuildings on expansive grounds. But by May 2024, the dacha was gone, replaced by what looks like a demolition site marked by pit of rubble, with an access track leading southward from the wreckage. While the surrounding buildings remain untouched, the foliage appears thicker, indicating a year's growth.
