Insulin resistance: Rapid surge in insulin levels in the body after consuming desserts on empty stomach can result in energy crashes, fatigue, and irritability. Over time, frequent spikes and drops in blood sugar may contribute to insulin resistance - a key factor in the development of type 2 diabetes.
