Youngsters at an outstanding school are lending a handing help to families who may be struggling amidst the cost-of-living crisis. The Pupil Council at The Olive School have set up the Help Yourself Hub to provide help for local families. The hub will be stocked with pre-loved items, including books and revision guides, school uniform, stationery, bags and rucksacks.

It will be created in a private area near the school's reception area, where parents and guardians can collect items free of charge at selected times during the day. Providing a discreet helping hand, the school hopes the hub will serve those facing difficult times, while also fostering a sense of community support and solidarity. Reflecting on the motivations behind the hub, one member of the Pupil Council said: "We just want to help people who might not have everything they need. If we can make even one family feel happier or less worried, then it’s worth it. It’s nice knowing that something small can make a big difference.
