Pune/Tirupati: A family of three from Pune adorned gold jewellery weighing about 25kg during their pilgrimage to the Lord Balaji mandir at Tirumala on Friday. Sunny Nanasaheb Waghchoure and Sanjay Gujar, known as the ‘Golden Boys’ of Pune, flaunted their flashy accessories, including heavy gold chains, while visiting the temple. After they completed their darshan and walked out of the hill temple, devotees surrounded them for selfies.

The 15 odd bodyguards travelling with Waghchoure and Gujar, along with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) security guards, had a tough time dealing with the crowd. Sanjay, Sunny alias Bunty, and Preeti Soni, whose video has gone viral, are residents of Pimpri Chinchwad. Preeti Soni, Sunny’s wife, is an actress and model who has been a part of several drama series.



Waghchoure and Gujar run a construction business. Waghchoure is also a producer in the entertainment industry. They also own gold-wrapped shoes, watches and luxury cars.

“We visited the temple on Friday and the video has been circulated widely. This was my second visit to the temple. I love to wear such jewellery and have been using gold items since my childhood.

It has become a hobby,” Gujar told TOI.
