DStv has announced the nominees for the Content Creator Awards 2024. The nominees span 17 categories and include five new categories. Creators aren’t the only ones who can win with several ways for the public to win tickets to the awards and cash prizes.

For two years DStv has hosted its Content Creator Awards as a way to recognise those making content that is primarily consumed online. After calling for entries earlier this year, the awards now have a group of nominees across 17 categories. These nominees were revealed at an event in Rosebank, Johannesburg this week.



For the 2024 iteration of the awards there will be a few new categories namely: Best Event After Movie Award, Storyteller Award, Pan-African Creator Award, Trendsetter Award, Gaming Creator Award. “The DStv Content Creator Awards have quickly become a highlight on the digital and social calendar, providing a platform to showcase the creativity and innovation that drives our content creation industry,” says Charis Coleman, Head of Digital Content at MultiChoice Group. “This year’s nominee list is a testament to the diverse and vibrant talent that continues to shape the digital landscape.

” With the announcement of the nominees, the public can now vote for their favourite creators in a number of categories. Where voting is available, we’ve included a unique code which can be SMSed to 33103 (messages cost R1.50).

Voting can win you a VIP experience at the awards on 12th October. You can also vote online at the Content Creator Awards website here . The first of these, #footbALLonDStv, asks folks to share how they get ready to watch the football on DStv. Doing so will win not only a R20 000 cash prize but a VIP experience at the Content Creator Awards later this year, a backstage photo op and a bar tab worth R1 000. To enter post your GRWM routine to social media and include the hashtags #footbALLonDStv and #DStvCCA and be sure to tag both DStv and the Content Creator Awards.

The second competition is the Spirit of Africa Award presented by Amarula Premium African Gin. Entrants will need to create a video no longer than two minutes in length that “showcases what it means to be unmistakably African”. The winner here will win R20 000 in cash.

As with the other public competition, entries must be posted to social media with the hashtags #AmarulaAfricanGin, #SpiritOfAfrica, and #DStvCCA. Both competitions close on 24th September..
