A city centre pub building with its own brewery is still on the market after nearly six months. North Laine Brewhouse’s site in Gloucester Place was put up for sale in March as the owner of the building looked to sell the site for £5 million. Now, the building has had its price dropped by ten per cent.
The freehold for the 19th-century pub, brewery and eight flats is now available for £4.5 million. North Laine Brewhouse will still trade out of the building and will not be affected by any sale.
Listed on property site Fleurets, the property was described as a “substantial and historic five-storey character semi-attached property built in 1819 with a slate mansard roof, painted and exposed brick elevations, bay windows and balconies”. Prior to North Laine Brewhouse opening in 2014, the Gloucester Place site formerly operated as the Gloucester Nightclub and Gloucester Mansions flats, first opening in 1989. North Laine Brewhouse, operated by The Laine Pub Company, has a lease currently lasting until 2032 The current freehold owners are now looking to retire and so are selling the property.
