Craig County District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Michelle Lowry said Thursday that prosecutors agreed to drop Bryan’s obstruction case in Oklahoma entirely. She said the famous country singer demonstrated that he was able to remain out of trouble since his arrest, which played a big part in their decision to dismiss the case, according to TMZ . The prosecution had previously agreed to defer charging Bryan for 6 months in May 2024, Lowry added.
Bryan was taken into custody for obstruction of a law enforcement officer in Oklahoma in 2023, and dash cam footage of the arrest appears to show the singer in a heated verbal exchange with police. The vehicle was driven by one of his security guards who was pulled over by police for allegedly speeding, according to TMZ. Bryan appears to enter the scene and begin arguing with the officer. The officer can be seen arresting him and leading him to the police cruiser.
“Fucking cops are out of hand, truly!” he can be heard saying in the video as he expressed his anger over the situation. Footage of the incident spread widely online, and eventually prompted an apology from Bryan. The prosecution’s decision to drop the charges releases Bryan from further obligation related to this incident, Lowry .
