Prithviraj Sukumar Reacts To Hema Committee Report In a recent media interaction Prithviraj Sukumaran stated, “If allegations have been made, thorough investigations need to be followed up with, and if these investigations lead to the allegation being proven right, there has to be exemplary punishments handed out.” The Malayalam actor further added, “On the other side, if the allegations are false, even then there should be exemplary punishments. Either way, these allegations need to be treated with utmost seriousness, and I hope this is the beginning of a process that will clear up everything in front of us.



” He concluded by stating, “Just because I haven’t faced any issues from a so-called influential group doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. I haven’t experienced it, but if anyone in Malayalam cinema has been affected by such a group, their grievances must be heard. If such a body exists, it should be dismantled.

” About Justice Hema Committee Report Recently, a redacted version of the Justice Hema Committee report was brought to the limelight where it revealed shocking details of harassment faced by females in Mollywood. The report also highlights several incidents of harassment, exploitation, and mistreatment of women in professional work. The 235-page report was published after redacting the names of witnesses and the accused, it also mentioned that 10 to 15 male producers, actors, and directors dictated the Malayalam film industry The report of the three-member panel headed by a former judge of the Kerala High Court and set up by the state government in 2017, was submitted to the Pinrayi-led Kerala government in December 2019 and made public only this month.

Formation of Hema Committee Report The Hema committee report was formed under a panel of three members including retired Justice Hema, in 2019 the report was submitted to Kerala Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan-led government. After five long years, the Hema Committee was made public in August 2025, revealing shocking details that led to multiple senior actors and directors resigning from top positions in the Malayalam film industry. The Chief Minister’s office also released an official statement which read, “In light of recent interviews and statements from several women in the Malayalam film industry detailing the hardships they have faced, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan convened a meeting with senior police officials here on Sunday.
