Spending time in prison isn’t something you can fully understand until you’ve been there yourself. It’s a world with its own rules, routines, and struggles, where even the simplest things—like having a bed to sleep on or taking a shower—can feel like luxuries. Here’s my story into that reality, one that most people never see.
Accommodation Being in prison, even if it is your first time behind bars, to be able to survive and just be able to have your own place to sleep. Prison is so full that you have to sleep on the floor, and yes, my first time in prison , I had to sleep on the floor, and it was nothing I ever thought of or even thought it could happen to me. But it did.
But after a while, it started to change, and I got a bed, and it felt so good, even if it was not free yet. All that I was thankful for was not having people walk all over you, not going to the toilet in prison if prison gangs were busy with their prison routine, and that was how I felt and all the pain I went through inside no one knows what’s going on in the minds of other prisoners, and you can never be certain around them. Money I think that money plays a big role in prison, and not everyone has it.
I was one of the less fortunate ones. Did you know that you are supposed to get a bed in prison, but just because it is so full and overcrowded, some of the time people have to pay for a bed in prison, and it does not come cheap at all. One thing I came to realise is being the less fortunate in .
