Jordan Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and his wife Princess Rajwa welcomed their first child - a baby girl on Saturday August 3. The royal couple of the Hashemite dynasty have named their daughter Iman bint al-Hussein but not many know the moniker has a special connection to their family. The Royal Hashemite Court confirmed the birth of their daughter on social media alongside a special video.

But that isn’t all when it comes to Iman bint al-Hussein’s name.

The moniker is also shared by a member of their family. Prince Hussein’s younger sister's name is also is Princess Iman bint Abdullah.

The royal siblings share a close bond with each other and Hussein also escorted his sister during her wedding last year to Jameel Alexander Thermiótis. The Crown Prince and Princess Rajwa of Jordan also announced the birth of their newborn in a special Instagram post, where they thanked everyone sending kind wishes to them.

“Praise be to God for His abundant blessings. We are immensely grateful for the safe birth of our daughter and the health of my beloved wife, Rajwa. Our heartfelt thanks to our family and the Jordanian people for their kind wishes, which deeply touched us during these special moments,” the statement read.
