Prima Queen will release their debut album ‘The Prize’ on April 25th. The band – Louise Macphail and Kristin McFadden – are set for a busy Autumn, supporting Everything Everything on their UK run. Next summer is also fruitful, with Prima Queen landing a slot alongside retuning indie legends The Maccabees at All Points East.
Looking ahead, Prima Queen have firmed up plans for their eagerly awaited debut album. It’s called ‘The Prize’, it will be released via Submarine Cat Records, and it will land on April 25th. Commenting on their forthcoming record, the band added: “We’re beyond excited to finally be releasing an album out into the world! We’ve been working on it for such a long time and it feels like a real statement of our growth, both separately and together.
It’s been our little secret for a while now and we can’t wait for it to be yours!” New sizzler ‘Ugly’ is about love, romance, and trying to keep your feet on the ground, it starts with a festival romance, before describing the inhibitions of the real world – and how you more-often-than-not come back down to earth with a bump. Prima Queen comment..
. ‘Ugly’ is about trying to maintain a festival romance in the real world. It was written after the ending of a situationship with an uneven power dynamic and after being let down repeatedly, coming to the painful acceptance that it will never be what you hoped for.
