Presley Dawn Turner Sep. 5, 2024 A Celebration of Life for Presley Dawn Turner, 17, of Nacogdoches will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Mosaic Church with Pastor Stan King and Brother Gary Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Drewery Cemetery in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Mosaic Church. Presley was welcomed into the presence of the Lord on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas. She fought a courageous battle against autoimmune liver failure.
She was surrounded by her loving family who sang her favorite worship songs as she entered the beautiful gates of Heaven. She was born on July 10, 2007 in Nacogdoches. Presley was born to the parents of Randy & Angela Turner.
She attended school in Lufkin and later transferred to Woden. She would have been a 2026 graduate of Woden High School. Presley came into the world weighing 5lbs 13oz and was the most beautiful baby girl.
Often strangers would stop us and compliment on her beauty. Presley was a shy child and has always marched to the beat of her own drum. Growing up as a teenager Presley found that she could express herself through her creative talent of makeup and glamorous nails.
While attending school at Lufkin, Presley danced, sang in the choir and performed in theater arts. During her time at Woden, Presley played softball, participated in the long jump in track and field and was a proud, active member of Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS). Presley's hobbies included arts and crafts which she relied heavily on to pass time while in the hospital.
She was a member of Impact Cowboy Church of Nacogdoches and actively involved with the youth group. Presley's salvation was a vital and essential part of her life. Her dedication to the Lord was never questioned and she worshipped in private through journaling.
Her faith and testimony has touched so many lives. We believe that her story will continue to live on. Presley had a profound love for her family.
She had a special bond with all her siblings. Because Zack and Alex were older, they were her role models which she looked up to for counseling and advise. Being so close in age to the twins, it was never her but always them.
They were often known as the Turner Tornado Trio. Presley had a unique relationship with her Aunt Mel-Mel and often referred to her as her second Mama. Above all, Presley was known for adoring her nieces, Hattie and Evelyn, and nephew, Beau.
Presley is survived by her parents, Randy & Angela Turner; siblings, Zack Turner & wife Abigail, Alex Bortner & husband Christopher and the twins, Chandler and Chesney Turner; nieces, Hattie and Evelyn Turner; nephew, Beau Bortner and grandparents, Brenda Drewery and Ray & Paulette Turner. She is also survived by her Uncle Shawn Drewery, Aunt Melanie Buster & husband DeWayne and Aunt Dawn Smith & husband Jeff, as well as numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Dale Drewery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Zack Turner, Christopher Bortner, Shawn Drewery, Jake Drewery, DeWayne Buster and Jeff Smith. With heartfelt thanks, the family would like to publicly acknowledge the doctors, nurses, physical therapist, art therapist, social workers, pharmacist and dieticians for their dedication in treating Presley over the last year. Presley was not an average patient to them; they all grew very fond of her.
Their devoted care of our precious Presley will never be forgotten. Presley's life was extended by thirteen months because of the generosity of the donor and their family. Please consider becoming an organ donor to help save the lives of others.
