A school in Delhi’s Anand Vihar faces scrutiny after a child abuse case on a school bus. Parents demand stricter safety measures and accountability. New Delhi: The safety of children has come under the spotlight after a troubling incident involving a pre-nursery student at a school in Delhi’s Anand Vihar area.
On November 12, the school sent a letter to the Anand Vihar Police Station, reporting that a young student was allegedly inappropriately touched by the school bus driver, conductor, and attendant. The incident, which occurred on November 8, has sparked outrage among parents and raised serious concerns about the safety measures in place for schoolchildren. The letter revealed that the accused individuals—driver Dan Prakash, conductor Kanhaiya, and attendant Rohit—were hired through a private contractor and not directly employed by the school.
The child’s parents brought the matter to the school’s attention on November 12, following which the school took immediate action by removing the accused from their duties. According to the school, the parents expressed satisfaction with the swift action and requested that no police complaint be filed. However, under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the school reported the matter to law enforcement as required.
