Prayagraj: Prayagraj Mahanagar unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party achieved the target of 1.40 lakh plus members by the end of the first phase of the BJP 's membership campaign in Kashi Prant. The first phse of the drive at BJP's Kashi Prant ended on Sep 25.
District spokesperson of the party Rajesh Kesarwani told TOI, "Prayagraj Mahanagar has achieved the target of making 1.40 lakh plus members in the first phase and stood third in the top 10 of Kashi region with 1,42,164 new members." In the top 10 assembly constituencies, Prayagraj Mahanagar's Allahabad City North Assembly secured first position by making the highest 57,732 members, whereas Allahabad South Assembly secured sixth position by making 45,457 members and City West Assembly got 9th position with 38,975 new members.
Kesarwani added, "In the first phase of the campaign held in Kashi Prant, comprising 16 districts and 71 assembly constituencies, a total of 16.54 lakh members have been made." "As far as figures of the top ten districts of Kashi region are concerned, Pratapgarh secured first place with 1,72,141, Mirzapur at second place with 1,50,581, Prayagraj Mahanagar third with 1,42,164, Ghazipur on fourth place with 1,33,164, Chandauli fifth with 1,31,664, Varanasi district sixth with 1,18,620, Varanasi Cantt seventh with 1,06,561, Sultanpur 8th with 92,867, Bhadohi ninth with 87,981, and Jaunpur at the 10th place with 82,705 new members.
