Prayagraj: The upcoming Maha Kumbh might see Prayagraj enter the Guinness Book with four record feats. The Mela administration has set its eyes on four records during the world's largest religious congregation while also showcasing a green and clean Maha Kumbh to the world. The first record attempt would be the parade of 1,000 e-rickshaws in the city.
Second would be simultaneous cleaning of the ghats by 15,000 workers. The third attempt would be made at the cleaning of the Ganga river where 300 people would enter the river together to clean it. The fourth record feat being targeted is creating handprints of 10,000 people in eight hours in the Ganga pandal and fair area.
A budget of Rs 4.87 crore has been allocated to create these records. In Kumbh 2019, three Guinness World Records were set — largest sanitation drive; largest hand painting theme, and the largest parade of buses.
In another development, govt has approved the Prayagraj Development Authority proposal of Rs 498 lakh for building Yamuna River Front. Its main attraction would be the water laser show. This was among the proposals approved in the apex committee meeting held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of chief secretary Manoj Kumar Singh.
A proposal of Rs 95.5 lakh was approved for the overall evaluation of Maha Kumbh by IIT-Kanpur. The institute will submit a report after a detailed research on the police security and their deployment plan, traffic and movement of devotees, planning of all the works related.
