Perfectly attuned with the thought rests the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, which is endowed on a non-resident Indian, Person of Indian Origin, or an organisation or institution established and run by them. This award is instrumental in memorialising the Indian diaspora and their contribution for introducing India and its characteristic diversity to the outside world.
In addition to this, this award aids the Indian causes as well as upholds the welfare of the local Indian community. The Hon’ble Rashtrapati Ji confers the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards on designated prominent members of the Indian diaspora. The event will span across the period of 8th till 10th January.
The gamut of heritage and cultural heterogeneity represented by Indian diasporas is acknowledged to the hilt. The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Award or as it is popularly known the PBD Award, has always treaded on acknowledging the contributions of the Indian people who reside internationally and contribute towards the nation’s prosperity. This award ceremony has been conducted once every two years since 2015.
Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Conventions have been convened seventeen times in total. This year the PBD Convention will celebrate its 18 th edition in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. The event will commence with the Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, marked by the ceremonial lighting of the traditional lamp.
