Ahmedabad: Ahead of Rakshabandhan, city post offices are bustling with activity. To cater to the festive rush , the Department of Posts is offering specially designed waterproof envelopes for Rs 10 each at every post office. Additionally, the ‘Postinfo’ app allows customers to request doorstep services for added convenience.

“The volume of rakhi envelopes and gifts keeps rising every year. We have made special arrangements to ensure timely delivery ,” says Surekh Reghunathen, director of postal services (HQ) of Gujarat postal circle. This year, postmen will be out delivering rakhis and gifts on Sunday, Aug 18, and on Monday, the day of the festival.



According to an official at the General Post Office in Mirzapur, postmen with heavy loads will receive assistance. “Parcel traffic, especially in rural and remote areas, has surged as e-commerce relies on us to deliver rakhis. Although the last-minute rush is anticipated, our staff is well-prepared and understands the importance of timely rakhi mail,” adds Reghunathen.
