Saturday, November 23, 2024 Portugal took center stage at the 11th annual Golf Tourism Gala in Madeira, being named the ‘World’s Best Golf Destination.’ Meanwhile, Terras da Comporta earned the prestigious title of ‘World’s Best Golf Course.’ In Scotland, Trump Turnberry, nestled on an 800-acre estate overlooking the rugged coastline, was awarded ‘World’s Best Golf Hotel.

’ Meanwhile, the ‘World’s Best New Golf Course’ accolade went to Heritage Golf Club – La Réserve Golf Links in Mauritius. LIV Golf Adelaide also earned recognition, being named the ‘World’s Best Golf Event of the Year.’ The World Golf Awards ceremony brought together key figures from the global golf community for an exclusive gathering.



Golf industry pioneers and leaders traveled from around the world to attend the event, which was held at Savoy Palace. The ceremony was the highlight of a two-day itinerary, giving attendees a chance to experience the best of Madeira’s golf courses. Chris Frost, Managing Director, World Golf Awards, says: “Madeira has proved to be a magnificent host for this world-class gathering of the global golf tourism industry.

We have had the privilege of recognising the leading golf courses, hotels, resorts, designers and tour operators from across the world and my congratulations to each of them.” Madeira’s rising prominence as a premier golf destination was further solidified with its recognition as the ‘World’s Best Emerging Golf Destinat.
