Facebook Twitter WhatsApp SMS Email Print Copy article link Save An alderman for the village of Port Vincent turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday for reportedly violating a restraining order, days after he was arrested on a count of domestic abuse, the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office said. Kolby Frederick, 29, was taken into custody by the Sheriff’s Office on one count of domestic violence — child endangerment after a complaint of domestic abuse Saturday in the Denham Springs area, according to a news release from the department. Frederick is a former French Settlement police officer, the release states.

“Detectives conducted a thorough investigation. A juvenile was present at the time of the incident,” Livingston Sheriff Jason Ard said in the statement. Port Vincent Mayor Angela Elmore and French Settlement Police Chief Cary Mosby did not immediately respond to requests for comment.



The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Frederick shortly before 9:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the Ascension Parish jail inmate database.

He was transported to the Livingston Parish jail and bonded out Monday, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office. That same day, Frederick violated a temporary restraining order and was arrested again after turning himself in Wednesday, according to the department. He is currently being held in the parish jail according to the department's inmate list.

According to the petition for the restraining order filed Monday in Livingston Parish Court, Frederick allegedly verbally harassed a woman he knew twice this month. “I was terrified, so I tried to barricade the locked door with a chair/nightstand,” she wrote in the petition about an alleged Sept. 14 incident.

The woman also said Frederick physically assaulted her last October, pulling her out of a vehicle, throwing her to the ground, holding her down and stepping on her neck, according to the document. Judge Jeffery Oglesbee approved the restraining order Monday..
