This weekend the small town of Ariccia near Rome hosts its popular Sagra della Porchetta, in honour of the savoury, fatty and moist boneless roast pork that is traditional to the region. The 2024 event, now in its 72nd edition, will take place from 30 August until 1 September and will be enlivened with live music, dancing and plenty of porchetta tasting. A highlight of the three-day festival is the traditional throwing of porchetta sandwiches into the crowd, scheduled in Piazza di Corte at 18.
