With little time to put together a team to run with her in A Ward, Cr Provan didn't look beyond her family.

Her husband Ross Howie, a retired chemical engineer and former executive director and board member of an international company, is second on the ticket, while her daughter Julie Muir, of Engadine, who is a civil celebrant and mother of three boys, fills the third position. After serving as an independent from 1983-21991, Cr Provan represented Shire Watch from 2008-2011, was an independent from 2011-2013 and a Liberal from 2013 to 2024. Cr Provan, who works a civil celebrant and was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in this year's Australia Day Honours, said, if re-elected on September 14, she would "continue my advocacy for the community in issues they may have with council".

"I have handled close to 5000 of these issues for the community up until now," she said. Cr Provan said her other goals included "ensuring we maintain our beautiful shire as the state government puts demands on us by increased housing", complete the Cronulla mall upgrade and restoring the Gunnamatta Pavillion with an attached cafe. Cr Provan said she would also seek to expand and improve Hazelhurst Regional Art Gallery - "preliminary conceptual work is already in progress" -, improve sporting fields to ensure they were available during wet weather and "ensure the governance and financial performance of the council is maintained to enable infrastructure improvements.
