Nine police officers climbed Ben Nevis to celebrate their colleague from Glasgow who completed her breast cancer treatment. The group, from Police Scotland , tackled the mountain for inspector Kirsty MacIntyre, 45. They were joined by Inspector MacIntyre and two staff members from the Wheatley Group and are all part of the Community Improvement Partnership (CIP).
The CIP is a collaboration between Police Scotland and the Wheatley Groupwhich aims to improve communities across Scotland. Inspector MacIntyre was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2023 and received treatment at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. She said: "Although I had support from family and friends and my amazing colleagues, Maggie’s was a huge support to me throughout and I don’t know what I’d have done without them. "Maggie’s was a place I could go to just feel like a person again rather than always being a patient. "It means a lot to me that my colleagues are taking on this challenge to help raise funds for Maggie’s and Breast Cancer Now, another charity which supported me throughout, and so I’m delighted that my fitness has returned and I was able to summit within four hours.
