A police incident closed part of the Prince of Wales bridge. Both sides were closed for a time with the M48 used as diversion on Friday afternoon. The eastbound side has re-opened, but the westbound stayed closed for longer.

Just before 4pm, it was announced that the M4 had re-opened westbound too, but there is a warning of delays. The company that manages the bridges said: "There are delays of approx. 30 minutes with six miles of congestion on approach, please allow time for them to clear.
