Sunday, September 15, 2024 Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate six new Vande Bharat trains today, a significant step towards faster and safer travel across India. These semi-high-speed trains, known for their cutting-edge technology and passenger-friendly amenities, will further expand the fleet of this modern marvel, taking it from 54 to 60 trains, according to a statement by the Railway Ministry. With 120 daily trips, these trains will connect over 280 districts across 24 states and union territories.

The inaugural ceremony will take place at Tatanagar Junction Railway Station in Jharkhand around 10 am, where PM Modi will flag off the trains, enhancing connectivity across several key regions. The six new routes include Tatanagar-Patna, Brahmapur-Tatanagar, Rourkela-Howrah, Deoghar-Varanasi, Bhagalpur-Howrah, and Gaya-Howrah. A flagship of the ‘Make in India’ initiative, the Vande Bharat trains are a symbol of the country’s push for a modern, world-class rail network.

Since the launch of the first Vande Bharat train on February 15, 2019, these trains have revolutionized travel with their semi-high speed and advanced features. The latest iteration, Vande Bharat 2.0, offers even more enhancements, including rapid acceleration, the Kavach safety system, anti-virus protection, and onboard WiFi.

As India continues to modernize its rail infrastructure, these new Vande Bharat trains serve as a beacon of progress and ambition, providing passengers with faster, safer, and more comfortable journeys across the country..
