New rumours online about the PlayStation 5 Pro suggest that some of the ray tracing features coming to AMD's RDNA 4 GPUs could make it to the console. According to leaker @Kepler_L2 on X/Twitter, the PS5 Pro, which will use a customized version of AMD’s current RDNA 3 architecture incorporating RDNA 4 features, might include a 64B RT node, BVH footprint improvement, ray tracing tri pair optimisation, RT instance node transform, RT support for OBB and instance node intersection, changes to flags encoded in barycentrics to simplify detection of procedural nodes, and a double ray tracing intersect engine. Some of the new RT features coming with gfx12/RDNA4.

However, these remain rumours for now, with no official confirmation from Sony regarding this matter. Graphics Preset Options for "Trinity", the apparent internal codename for the PS5 Pro.
