Getting everyone together for a board game night can be difficult, especially if you don't all live in the same area. However, as seen during the Future Games Show at Gamescom Presented by Sid Meier’s Civilization® VII, All On Board! presents a solution to this by allowing you to meet up and play games in VR. This is much more personal than just playing together online, as you can see the other players' mouth movements, read their body language and gestures, and even make eye contact as if you were in the room together.

Thanks to the augmented reality function of supported VR headsets, you can also bring the action into your own living room for an even more immersive experience. Along with the convenience of having everything set up for you and progress being automatically tracked, you can use the in-game tutorials to learn how the particular game you're playing works, as well as referring to pop-up hints during your turn to quickly reference rules without having to look them up every time. When you're done for the evening, simply save the session and you can easily resume from where you left off at your next game night.

There are already a dozen officially licensed board games announced for All On Board! including Rallyman GT, The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls, and Istanbul, with plenty more still to come. With extensive modding tools included, you can also create new games and share them with other users. There's no subscription required for this service, and as in real life only one player needs to own a particular board game for everyone to play together – there's even a free Guest Mode app so that friends who don't have VR can still join your game sessions.

All On Board! will be launching later in 2024 for Steam VR, Meta Quest 2, and Meta Quest 3, but you can wishlist it now on Steam and follow @AllOnBoardVR for the latest updates from the developers.
