As the holiday season approaches, many people across the United States will crisscross the country on airplanes. Some destinations will see bigger crowds than others, particularly sunny locations such as Florida and Arizona. As such, airports in some cities and states will likely see a surge more than others, and we take a closer look at the projected trends.

Analyzing TSA data Luxury Link has published its findings regarding the surge at US airports for the holiday season. The report analyzed data from the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) FOIA Electronic Reading Room, and the fluctuation in data during the holiday period was analyzed compared to the rest of the year. According to the Gwinnett Daily Post , the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday periods were chosen for a more detailed analysis.



The time period from the Friday before Thanksgiving until the Monday after, and the Friday before the entire week leading up to Christmas until January 2 the following year was examined. Results were compared to the post-COVID years of 2022 and 2023. Airports with the most surge In 2023, the daily passenger count in the United States reached 2.
