A scheme has been put forward to turn a flat above a shop along a main road into accommodation for people needing “care or support.” The plan will see the flat on Deane Road into supported living accommodation. The building is part of a three-storey terrace with the ground floor being used by a business premises.

A design and access statement said: “The site is in a well-connected, residential area with good access to local amenities and transport links, making it a potentially attractive location for the proposal. “The purpose of the proposal is to provide a more suitable environment for individuals requiring care and support, such as vulnerable adults, the elderly, or those with physical or mental health challenges. The plans have been put before Bolton Council (Image: Diogel) “This change aligns with the growing demand for high quality supported living facilities that provide care, supervision, and assistance, while still promoting independence in a safe and structured environment.



” It added: “The positive impact of this will improve the quality of life for vulnerable individuals which allows for a safe and supportive environment for people who need assistance in their daily lives. “This proposal changes of use will likely create jobs for local carers, support workers, and healthcare professionals.” The plans were entered to Bolton Council on Wednesday October 30.

The application says that no outside alterations or extensions have been proposed to the bui.
