Japanese carrier All Nippon Airways (ANA) has introduced a new safety video featuring two of the most beloved characters worldwide. Pikachu and Eevee from the iconic world of Pokémon join the cabin crew in the safety video. Gotta fasten 'em all! This week, the Star Alliance carrier introduced Pokémon-themed in-flight safety and disembarkation videos.



The films, created in partnership with the Pokémon Company, are being shown on ANA's Boeing 787 " Pikachu Jet NH " and Boeing 777 " Eevee Jet NH ." The two companies have worked together since March 2023, when the ANA Group joined the "Pokémon Air Adventures" and announced the two specially painted aircraft for international flights.

The planes' new in-flight safety videos were designed to create an engaging experience that all passengers, from children to adults, will want to watch. The sixth and final Pokémon Air Adventures aircraft is now in service. The ANA x Pokémon in-flight safety video includes appearances from quite a few unique Pokémon characters.

Backed by the ANA cabin crew, the Pokémon characters help passengers deepen their understanding of safety and explain the relevant safety instructions, emergency exit information, and precautions in various in-flight situations. Motoaki Ueno, Executive Vice President of Customer Experience Management and Planning of ANA noted how the collaboration will provide passengers with an entertaining and informative in-flight experience: “The partnership with The Pokémon Company brings together two iconic brands to create a unique in-flight safety experience that seamlessly bridges generations, offering both fun and educational information. “At ANA, we are committed to ensuring the safety of our passengers, and this innovative approach allows us to elevate the flight experience by combining essential safety information with engaging entertainment.

"This unique collaboration ensures travelers of all ages enjoy a memorable and delightful journey with us.” The videos will feature Japanese-English narration and multi-lingual subtitles in a total of 18 languages. There is even a cutaway bubble featuring Japanese Sign Language and International Sign instructions that have been adopted in cooperation with the Japanese Federation of the Deaf to ensure accessibility for a wider audience.

Yet another Pokémon-themed jet is about to take to the skies of Asia. In addition to the initial boarding video, there is also an ANA Disembarkation Video featuring Pokémon. In it, Pikachu gets lost on its journey and is reunited with its trainer through the cooperation of ANA airport staff, allowing viewers to experience the team spirit of ANA as they arrive at their respective destinations.

The videos are live now on flights worldwide from ANA's hub at Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND). How can you see it? ANA's Pokemon-themed jets fly primarily international routes. Eevee, a Boeing 777-300ER registered JA784A, generally flies to the United States and London.

This month, it has been seen on rotations from Tokyo to New York JFK, San Francisco (SFO), Chicago (ORD), and London (LHR). Get all the latest airline route news right here. The special livery commemorates the character Eevee with its Evolutions, such as Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon, which are depicted decisively moving forward into the future together with Pikachu.

The airline hopes the livery will inspire more people to embark on their own adventures, noting: "With an air of hope, they take off on a journey into the skies together with people flying to new places." The other jet flying in the special livery is a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner registered JA894A. Most recently scheduled on flights to Sydney, Honolulu, and Delhi, the aircraft has been spotted as far away as Singapore, Vancouver, and Bangkok.

The inaugural flight will commence on June 4th. In the custom paint job, the Sky High Pokémon Rayquaza is depicted across the entire fuselage to create a vivid effect. Meanwhile, Charizard, Latias, Latios, Vivillon, and other flying Pokémon from all over the Pokémon world move together with Pikachu toward what the airline describes as " shining rays of hope and endless possibilities of an interconnected world .

" Avid plane spotters will be pleased to know that Pokémon are also hidden inside the engines, so make sure to keep an eye out for them when boarding your next adventure with the Pikachu Jet!.
