Quarry Hill Nature Center, the Zumbro Valley Audubon Society and Listos Preschool and Childcare partnered to host a Monarch Festival on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, at Quarry Hill Park in Rochester. The free community event included a variety of activities, including a tent for visitors to interact with monarch butterflies in, the opportunity for visitors to capture and tag their own monarch butterflies, and cultural displays and performances showing the significance of monarch butterflies in Aztec and Mexican culture.
