The former ITV star is making his return to the small screen and revealed he's lost 13 pounds while appearing on Channel 5's new show Cast Away. He's set to make his TV comeback on the three-part Channel 5 series next week.
It seems he's been focusing on gaining muscle after losing weight on the programme, which sees him stranded on a desert island and trying to survive for 10 days. Phillip, 62, shared a video of himself at the gym and wrote on his Instagram Story: "Leg day. Putting back the 6kg I lost on the island with muscle.
.. not carbs.
" Phillip has hinted that he will open up about the past year and a half on the show. The presenter left ITV last year following revelations of an affair with a younger male colleague. In a trailer for the upcoming show, he said: "I've been cast away on a desert island, completely on my own, all I have is camera gear, and I can say whatever I want about whatever I want.
It's my chance to tell my side of my story. I know what I did was unwise, but is it enough to absolutely destroy someone?" Since leaving ITV, Phillip has reportedly received numerous TV offers. Cast Away will see him equipped with nothing but camera equipment to document his experience.
