Peter O’Mahony and his wife Jessica made a shocking discovery resto ring their home as they continued their Cork project. It’s been a hectic summer for the Ireland captain , who travelled to South Africa for a series of Test matches, with Ireland managing to beat the side who won last year’s Rugby World Cup in France. With Munster’s next game not arriving until August 31, in a friendly against Bath at the Recreation Ground, Peter has had a month to catch up on missed time with his wife Jessica and their three children, Indie, Theo and Ralph.

Currently living in a gorgeous home, which was initially built in the 1890s, the family have been working hard restoring and transforming the property over the past 12 weeks. Looking to make it a property that’s fully suitable for their young family and matches their tastes, Jessica revealed on Instagram that they accidentally discovered the property’s original stone face while doing some exterior plastering. ‘The 12 week transformation and restoration.

One person said: ‘Amazing what a gem discovery!’ Another added: ‘Absolutely adore this old brick. What a treasure trove you have uncovered.’ While someone wrote: ‘Wow, that brick is so beautiful! Mad to think anyone wanted to cover that up! Looks stunning.

’ Taking inspiration from Pinterest, Peter and Jessica painted the front door a light turquoise blue, despite that being similar to Munster’s rivals Leinster’s home colours..
