I leave for Europe in just a few short weeks so I’m starting to piece together a wardrobe that will suit everything from tiny cottage towns in France to rowdy nights out in London. It will be a diverse suitcase to say the least. But to suit the regional towns portion of my trip I decided to lean into whimsy and see what my favourites over at Petal and Pup were stocking in the sets and dresses department.

Know the news with the 7NEWS app: Download today My eyes were drawn to the many floral designs the Australian fashion website houses, with soft pink off the shoulder gowns and applique grandma-style cardigans, I couldn’t believe how well constructed the pieces were. I firstly picked up the Jemima Puff Shoulder Maxi Dress in Floral ($109) , which many shoppers were using as a bridal and baby shower outfit, so say the reviews. While it does have a cut out at the side I didn’t find it exposed the chest at all and it’s long enough that even the tallest of ladies will be able to style it with ease.

It’s sadly sold out currently but if you’re looking for a near identical style the Aminah Puff Sleeve Dress is remarkably similar — and the same price. If it’s the floral print you love most about the Jemima, look no further than the matching Amalie Top ($89) and Alina Shorts ($69) , which are perfect for frolicking in the meadows (or down the cobblestones of a French street) without tripping over. The fabric is incredibly thick — it’s not see through at all — and the flowers are subtle enough that you won’t be standing out too intensely from the crowd.

The standout dress of the bunch was definitely the $129 Chloe Maxi Dress , which I plan on wearing to a wedding when I’m over there because it hugs the body expertly. The ruffles add a touch of character , with an adjustable shoulder strap to cinch you in, while the low back is both eye-catching and demure all at once. It’s a showstopper to put it mildly.

It is currently available in all sizes with just one review calling it “absolutely beautiful”...

and I couldn’t agree more. If you’re feeling chilly you could pair it with the Sienna Flower Cardigan ($79) — I sized up for roominess and love the little flower appliques dotted all over it. The final piece to my wardrobe puzzle came by way of the high quality Jorja Contrast Stitch Mini Dress ($99) .

This dress is actually made from a blend of cotton and linen so it’s thick and luxurious against the skin. I love the low and expandable top half paired with the puff sleeves — it’s so dainty. The oatmeal colouring suits just about every skin type so you won’t be caught looking washed out on holiday.
